To avoid coming across as childish, he takes a decision that symbolically brings him just a bit closer to adulthood.

With the second-by-second illustration of this short, sober experience, Whorl subtly focuses on the state of being on a threshold and questions if we as people are implicitly taught to limit creativity and imagination.
